Promo Shoot Competition

May is the month when Brighton springs to life with a plethora of festivals and events covering pretty much every creative base in the book, from dance and theatre and comedy to exhibitions and installations. Heading it up for the music scene is weekend long festival “The Great Escape” a unique 3 day event that takes place across 30 Brighton venues and features over 350 artists.

We’ve teamed up with the Brighton Source Magazine for their May publication (a Great Escape themed issue) to run a fantastic music related competition, offering the chance to win a promo shoot with our very own Kenny McCracken (the man behind Source Magazine’s cover photography), who’s worked with  international artists like Orbital and Rizzle Kicks. Entries are open to bands and solo artists alike, but you must have an online platform where we can listen to your music.

To enter the competition simply send an email to hello@welovecreate.com with a picture of your band, a link to where we can listen to your tunes (Soundcloud/Myspace etc), and a short paragraph of no more than 50 words telling us about your music. We’ll post the entries we receive each day up on our facebook account for members of the public to vote for their favourite artists. The winner will be chosen by Create and Source from the top five rated artists on the 31st May.

To cast your vote you MUST:

1. Like our FB page and then

2. Like the link posted for your favourite artist.

If you don’t do both of these things your vote won’t count.

The more people who vote, the more chance you have of winning, so spread the word! We must be able to see your like on the post so you MUST like the Create FB page first, and votes will only be counted once so no cheating!

Former Rakes Member Alan Donohoe asked Create to produce a video for the release of ‘Denis and Margaret’, his first track for brand new solo project The Champagne Campaign.

Submissions are now open for The Photocopy Club RIOT.

OPEN SUBMISSION 2013.

OK, so with this project we want photography that documents the changes in this world.

We don’t just want a photo of some kid in a balaclava smashing the state. We want photos from all over the world of people standing up for something they believe in. If you have photos from any protests about human rights, School fees, Jobs, Hospitals, politics, sexuality, housing, benefits, anti fascist, animal rights and anything more please send them to us.

This is not just for UK photographers - This is for photographers all over the world to show what is going on in their country, in their city, in their lives. This is a platform for you show the world as you see it.

All submissions must be printed as black and white photocopies/xerox’s. A4 - A0 in size.

For this years Mini click party Around 20 photographers have been given disposable cameras to shoot and then give away in a lucky dip event at mini click on the 4th of May. Create photographer Matt Martin has been given one to shoot on, which he has already stripped and painted. #welovecreate
